If I wasn't a Christian I would insert several expletives right here. Why the heck are the Republicans the only ones with morals? Ex-House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has decided to resign from his seat. DeLay has been accused of scandal after scandal by liberal attorneys, he is caught up in defending himself against charges of illegal usage of funding. According to the article I read he stepped down from his position as House Majority leader for having ties to Jack Abramoff, God only knows what that means, if having ties to Jack Abramoff makes you ineligible to hold a position in government than Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid should step down because not only does he have "ties" he actually took money from him and then refused to give it back, unlike the Republicans who took money from him. However I digress, I have a message to Tom Delay (in case my fame has spread and he reads this blog): Don't resign, come back twice as strong and the liberals will be stunned, Texas needs you and wants you, as does America.

It's a good thing to maintain anonymity when you're spouting leftist talking points with no regard for the real world. The world has no interest in Tom DeLay whatever. The problem with America is we tend to create our own enemies. Even with Nixon, Americans were horrified but Russians and China-men, who do this kind of thing on a regular basis, were surprised only that we made such a big deal out of it. The corruption rampant in the high levels of Congress does not begin or end with the Republican Party. They're just the ones the media investigates.

I think the world does have interest in tom delay, its on the news worldwide, and it just shows to many that the american government is hypocrite. when you say your morals and values are the highest and you want to spread them over the world using the military and then it turns out you don't meet up the standards your own country has set, the world laughs at you in the best case or hates you in the worst.
the difference with china and russia is/was that the rest of the world consideres america as a 'good' country, contrary to china and the sovjet-union and therefore has higher expectations of the usa. for example, when china violates humanitarian laws we all say it's terrible, but in the back of our head we think 'well we could have expected that from such a regime'...but when a (former?) friend like america does so, it's far more shocking

First I would like to point out which countries are sending out terrorists to kill innocent civilians...certainly not America. Tom DeLay may have made some mistakes, nobody is quite sure. The attorney who had him indicted (Ron Earl) declared at a Democratic Party fund-raiser his agenda to destroy Tom DeLay. DeLay has only been indicted which means the court will look further into the case...he has not been convicted on any charges. Which is worse anyway: 1) inappropriate use of funding or 2) killing someone and then lying about it? (As did Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy)

I did not mena to post my same comment twice. It didn't appear to publish it at first and so I hit it twice with the inevitable result of my having it on twice. Sorry about that.

murder is worse than being corrupt, for sure.

and most terrorist are not state-sponsored acts...there's no link between al-qaeda and the former regime of saddam hussein, unlike mr. Bush wanted us to believe...

i'm curious about what will happen, as far as i know tom delay his ideas are dangerous...his politics are immorral (destroying your opponent) and doesnt suit a pluralistic democracy

what opponent has Mr. DeLay destroyed? as far as I can remember he simply beat his opponent everytime.
On your other point, found in the papers of Saddam Hussein's brutal regime, written by his son Uday called for "special operations, assassinations, and bombings, for the centers and traitor symbols in London, Iran and the self-ruled areas (Kurdistan)." All these were supposed to take place in the "Blessed July" of 2003...why didn't they? Because in March of 2003 a man named George W. Bush ahd the integrity and character to stand up to Saddam and overthrow him.
Maybe we haven't found enough evidence to prove to you and your kind that Saddam was linked to Al-Qaeda (maybe film footage of the two of them talking about terrorism would convice you-maybe, but since we don't have any the point does not arise)but I thank God that Saddam's regime was stopped before July.
